MY WHY

It’s time you understand why.

.

.

.

.

Why I do what I do, how I got here, and most importantly what drives me.

How Move The Needle Nutrition came to be.

In the space of quick content nowadays, thank you in advance for reading this.

I think it’s easy to look at my content and assume I have it all together, but what drove me to this career was a past riddled with food anxiety, food obsession, and a fixation with exercise for punishment, just to name a few.

I am, and was, just like you probably in many ways. I was always on the hunt for the next best diet to start, but my go to was over eating with poor food quality and then trying to burn it off with tons of cardio. I would sometimes do two bootcamp classes a day.

I would eventually shift into crossfit 5-6 x per week with strict clean under eating Monday through Thursday and eating with complete abandon every single Friday through Sunday. I would make sure to get extra workouts in over the weeknd in an effort to make up for the 3,000 calories or more I would consume.

Each of my pregnancies I packed on 70 plus pounds, I used it as an excuse to eat whatever my heart desired and not exercise much at all.

I spent most of my life gaining and losing countless pounds. I couldn’t even tell you the total. Back and forth, lose it and then gain it right back.

My relationship with food was horrible. I loved junk food, all food really, but had no clue what my true needs were or what my body needed to just feel good. I was either starving or over doing it.

My relationship with fitness was even worse. I loved to workout but often used it to “undo” poor food choices and caused my body a lot of stress and injuries in the process.

My why is the old me, which coincidentally could be you right now.

The relationship I have with my body/food/fitness NOW, almost 8 years after this “before” pic (which was just me at a super low point a year after my youngest) is night and day compared to then.

It is a balanced relationship, a happy relationship, and one that I fought so hard for.

One that I didn’t even know was possible ten years ago to be honest.

It doesn’t have to be this way, and my work proves that time and time again.

My work over the last decade has allowed me to…

Get to know MY needs, so I can lose body fat, not just WEIGHT, responsibly.

Gain strength, and muscle mass which makes it easier to maintain a lower body fat percentage forever and looks really good too 🙂

See how recovering from exercise is as important as the movement itself, and what goes into that is vital for longevity.

Improve sleep

Improve digestion

Recognize my stress, even self inflicted, and manage it.

But above all else my relationship with food and fitness.

LOVE my body for what it does, and even how it looks.

I found peace.

It is easy now, EFFORTLESS even.

I won’t act like that has been easy, it took years, but it really is possible I can promise you that.

I can also promise you that I can help get you there, if you’re willing to change and do the work.

If you are willing to forgive yourself for being less then perfect.

If you are willing to just show up.

You can get there too.

Thanks for reading, this post is vulnerable to say the least but I think it is so important people understand why I am here, and how this business came to be, and that YES, you can absolutely change your life anytime you want.

You just may need some help along the way.
