Restricting calories and cardio will help you lose weight on the scale….

IMG_9615

If you slash your calories and lots of cardio you will lose weight, you will also:

👎🏻Lose muscle
👎🏻Be miserable
👎🏻Plateau eventually
👎🏻Struggle to sustain it

Let’s avoid all that shall we?

We do this by prioritizing strength training and eating ENOUGH. (And enough of the right kinds of foods!) We keep our diet high in protein and fiber which helps to keep us full so we have control over calories without eating 1200 calories or less!! and the protein helps us to build/retain muscle mass.

➡️THIS will help you lose body fat, not just scale weight, while also retaining if not adding muscle. The eat less- move more method gets old quick.

📌Yes it works.
📌Yes you will lose muscle (the scale going down isn't always a good thing!)
📌Yes you will get tired of it real quick
📌Yes your body will adapt and plateau

And guess what when you get burnt out and quit that weight you lost is coming back.

Think of your metabolism as a little dashboard with different toggles, if you are just sitting in the eat less/move more toggle all the time your body will stop responding at some point! It is ADAPTIVE, this is how it keeps us alive, not super helpful for weight loss goals tho!

We need a new toggle.

Maybe you have heard that prioritizing strength training and eating more will help you lose weight, but you often aren’t ready to do it, or maybe you are even scared to try something new.

My answer to that is always the same, what’s the alternative? Stay stuck, or try something new?
