Ladies over 35, you are losing muscle

📌 Women in their 30’s and 40’s can be particularly vulnerable to muscle loss, and this is the last thing you want. Unless you are into:

❌Decreased metabolism

❌Reduced strength

❌Osteoporosis

❌Increased risk of injuries

❌Higher risk of chronic diseases

BUT WHY are we now at risk for muscle loss?

👉🏻Hormonal Changes: Women experience hormonal changes as they age. The levels of estrogen, a hormone that has anabolic effects on muscle tissue, begin to decrease. This reduction can contribute to muscle loss.

👉🏻Reduced Activity: As we get older, we often become less active for various reasons, such as busy work schedules or family responsibilities. Most women have a career, busy kids, and run a household. They struggle to fit their self care into their routine. This decrease in physical activity can result in muscle loss.

👉🏻Nutrition: If the diet doesn't provide enough protein and essential nutrients, it will not support the maintenance and growth of muscle mass. Muscle is active tissue and if your body is not getting what it needs to support that, it will get rid of it! Busy women tend to lean towards under-eating, skipping meals, and eating low protein.

👉🏻Stress: If you take every change mentioned above and dump a bunch of life stress on top of it you can rest assured the body will try to ditch active tissue, aka muscle. Stress tends to be higher for women after the age 30 when life just gets REAL.
